Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer, United Negros Alliance president, did not announce UNEGA’s choice for vice governor in 2025 during their Christmas party on Saturday, Dec.9.
He said it is too early to make an announcement, they have ten months more to go before the filing of certificates of candidacy for the next polls.
Ferrer earlier announced that he is not seeking a third term as vice governor as he plans on running for congressman of the 4th District.
“But you never know I might still decide to run for vice governor,” he said.
He said the UNegA gathering on Saturday was purely a Christmas party.
But Ferrer assured that UNegA will continue to support the administration of Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson.
UNegA did not discuss Ferrer’s heir apparent on Saturday, Cadiz Mayor Salvador Escalante, UNegA secretary general, also said.
“The vice governor said it is too early for us to declare, we do not know yet who his heir apparent will be,” Escalante said.*
