No theft committed by Y4, Lopez says

The Yanson 4 did not commit theft and did not transfer Mindanao Star Bus Transport Inc. . (MSBTI) funds to their personal accounts,  Celina Yanson Lopez said Friday, July 3.

Lopez was responding to qualified  theft  charges filed against her and her three other siblings – Roy, Emily and  Ricardo Jr.

Lawyer Norman Golez, who was joined by the family’s matriarch, Olivia V. Yanson, and her two other children, Leo Rey Yanson and Ginnette Yanson-Dumancas, at a press conference at their private beach resort in Brgy. Bubog, Talisay City, Thursday evening,  said new warrants of arrests had been issued against the Y4  in connection with raps filed against them for qualified theft involving more than PHP 803.47 million in corporate funds..

Mindanao Star Bus Transport Inc. (MSBTI), led by Leo Rey V. Yanson, filed the criminal cases against the Y4 before Pasig City and Bacolod City courts  after it was discovered that more than PHP 803.47 million in corporate funds had allegedly been illegally withdrawn from MSBTI’s accounts with the Philippine National Bank (“PNB”) and deposited into the Yanson 4’s personal accounts during the family’s 2019 corporate dispute, Golez said.

The money was not stolen, it was not transferred to personal accounts but to a  MSBTI  account, Lopez told DIGICAST NEGROS.

They also did not spend the amount, it was not stolen, she said.

Why would we steal money from a corporation we own? Lopez asked.

Lopez said she hopes their mother gives their family a chance to be a family again.*
