No power interruptions on Election Day assured

Central Negros Electric Cooperative (CENECO) has assured the Commission on Elections that there will be no power interruptions in its coverage area during the Barangay and Sannguniang Kabataan Election Day on October 30, Negros Occidental Provincial Election Supervisor Ian Lee Ananoria said Friday, October 13.

Although the counting of the BSKE votes will not be automated, it is important that there will be electricity during the manual count, he said.

“They have assured the Comelec, PNP and AFP that there will be no interruptions during Election Day, and before and after until all the candidates have been proclaimed,” Ananoria said.

CENECO’s coverage area includes the cities of Bacolod, Bago, Silay, and Talisay, and the towns of Don Salvador Benedicto and Murcia.

Ananoria also assured that Negros Occidental has enough ballot boxes for the BSKE.

The accountable forms for the BSKE, which include the ballots, are expected to arrive in Negros next week, Ananoria said.*
