No COMELEC registration on Dec. 24, 25, 30 and 31

There will be no voter registration during the holidays this December.

Regional Director Lionel Marco Castillano of the Commission on Elections NIR said there will be no voter registration on December 24, 25, 30 and 31. January 1 is also a holiday.

Castillano said he hopes that with start of Christmas break, students will register to vote for the Sangguniang Kabataan elections.

The Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections will be in Nov. 2, 2026

If they turn 15 by then, they can register to vote in the SK polls, Castillano said.

“Kindly follow the COMELEC FB pages in your area. There are schedules for registration. Starting from the 22nd, the 19th is the last day of classes, you can come to our office. We are open on Saturdays,” Castillano said.

The COMELEC targets a 5 percent increase in voter registration.

In the December 1 to 6 output of the COMELEC, there were 7,660 voter registrants, 5,147 of whom were from Negros Occidental.*
