The Commission on Elections (Comelec) registered 8,011 new voters in the Negros Island Region on Tuesday, August 5, bringing the total to 43,538 voters on Day 5, NIR Regional Election Director Lionel Marco Castillano said.
There are 22,130 females and 21,408 males who registered to vote in the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE), he said.
The 10-day registration of BSKE voters will end on Sunday, August 10.
The total new registrants in Negros Occidental are 25,849, Negros Oriental -16,493 and Siquijor – 1,196.*
