
The Department of Health (DOH) reported a total of 105 fireworks-related injuries across the Negros Island Region (NIR) during the holiday monitoring period from December 21 to Friday, January 2.
Negros Occidental bore the brunt of the incidents with 75 recorded injuries, followed by Negros Oriental with 26 cases, and Bacolod City and Siquijor with two each, the DOH NIR reported.
The DOH said 72 individuals suffered from blasts or burns that did not require amputation, 30 cases involved eye injuries, and three victims sustained blast or burn injuries resulting in amputations.*
