A new Bacolod City administrator cannot be appointed until the Commission on Elections’ ban ends on Nov. 29, Mayor Alfredo Abelardo “Albee” Benitez said on Saturday, Nov. 18.
Benitez refused to name the person he is appointing to replace lawyer Pacifico Maghari III who resigned on Nov. 1.
The mayor, however, said the new city administrator is someone he pirated from another local government unit.
The new city administrator’s transfer has to happen after Nov. 29, he said.
The person will be introduced properly after Benitez sits down with the city government department heads to inform them of his choice.
The new city administrator is someone he can work closely with and is more of an implementer, he said.
He will also ask the barangay captains of Bacolod to elect a Liga ng mga Barangay president he can have a good working relationship with, Benitez also said.
He is looking at a Liga ng Mga Barangay president who is experienced, Benitez said.
The league election is set Dec. 15, he said.*
