
The Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation (NWTF), which is celebrating its 40th founding year, was acknowledged for its significant contributions to enhancing the business climate and supporting MSME growth in an awarding ceremony held at Malacañang Palace on July 10.
It was cited for improving access to finance through its Project Dungganon.
The 2024 Presidential Awards for Outstanding Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and Presidential Recognition for Outstanding Development Partners strives to honor remarkable MSMEs for their excellence, innovation, and sustainability and acknowledge their significant contribution to the Philippine economy, a press release from NWTF said on Tuesday, July 16.
“This honorable distinction is a milestone for the organization as it ramps up its effort to build more sustainable communities through microfinance, environment-conscious programs, and initiatives on preventive healthcare. Through this three-pronged approach, NWTF aims to cover all aspects that significantly affect the client’s journey to better tomorrows,” the press release said.
With close to 600,000 clients in over 250 branches throughout the Philippines, NWTF seeks to bring its services to more communities. The organization aims to open more branches in the near future as part of its commitment to creating more sustainable communities, it said.
NWTF Founder and Executive Director Suzzette D. Gaston received the award and was accompanied by NWTF Director of Operations Gilbert Maramba.
The NWTF thanked the Department of Trade and Industry and the MSME Development Council for organizing the event.*
