Former Department of the Interior and Local Government Undersecretary Jayvee Hinlo filed his certificate of candidacy for senator on Monday, Oct. 7.
Hinlo, who is a Negrense lawyer, is the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino (PDP) Deputy Secretary General for Visayas and its Provincial Council President for Negros Occidental.
He said he was chosen by former president Rodrigo Duterte and PDP to run for senator.
If elected his legislative programs will be geared towards boosting the fight against corruption and poverty, and for reform in the educational system, Hinlo said.
Hinlo was former DILG undersecretary for public safety, member of the board of directors of the Land Bank of the Philippines and commissioner of the Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission.*
