Negros Occidental’s provincial government will use its earnings from Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) shares in Capitol-run dialysis hospitals for financial assistance to patients.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II said Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson issued the directive so that all treatments and procedures in the provincial government-owned and operated hospitals will be free of charge to all Negrense patients.
The shares from the dialysis package include PHP73.35 million each from hospital fees and from the ZRL Group, Inc., operator of the dialysis centers in the three public hospitals.
Along with the PHP8.56 million for professional fees, the three hospitals logged earnings totaling PHP155.26 million.
“Team Negros Occidental Provincial Government continues to support Negrenses in need of dialysis treatment, bringing the centers closer to them and covering their expenses with the assistance of PhilHealth,” said Diaz, who is also the officer‐in‐charge of the Hospital Operations Department.
The three dialysis hospitals are the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital (TLJPH) in Silay City; the Cadiz District Hospital (CDH) in Cadiz City; and the Don Salvador Benedicto Memorial District Hospital (DSBMDH) in La Carlota City.
Of the PHP155.26 million collection, TLJPH contributed PHP81.71 million from July 18, 2025 to July 6, 2026; CDH, PHP33.50 million, from June 2025 to June 16, 2026; and DSBMDH, PHP40.03 million, from Dec. 18, 2025 to July 1, 2026.*PNA
