NegOcc police nab 14 wanted persons

The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office arrested 14 wanted persons in search operations on Wednesday and Thursday, August 7 to 8, the Police Regional Office-6 reported on Friday.

PRO-6 said  search operations across Western Visayas resulted to the arrest of 31 wanted persons, with NOCPPO having the highest number.

The police arrested seven most wanted and 24 other wanted persons in Western Visayas.

NOCPPO arrested 14, Iloilo PPO – 6, Antique PPO – 5, Regional Mobile Force Battalion VI and the Bacolod City Police Office – 2 each, and Iloilo CPO – 1, PRO 6 reported.

Among those arrested was “alias Jomar”, 47,  of Barangay Mabini, Escalante City, an alleged  New People’s Army rebel under the Northern Negros Front, Kometing-Rehiyon, Negros, the  PRO 6 report said.

He was arrested for alleged violation of Republic Act 9851 or the Philippine Act on Crimes Against International Humanitarian Law, Genocide, and other Crimes Against Humanity, the PRO 6 said.

“Let’s continue looking for the remaining wanted persons in the region”, PRO-6 Director BGen. Jack Wanky said.

“It is our goal to account and make them answer for the offenses they’ve committed”, he said.*
