An alleged National Bureau of Investigation asset and a woman were killed in separate shooting incidents in Bacolod City today, February 3, in just two hours.

The first fatality was identified as 23-year-old Angelica Montalvo of Barangay Banago.

She was in her vehicle with her live-in partner, whose identity was not revealed by the police, that was parked in front of the Medical Plaza at BS Aquino Drive at 7 a.m. when an unidentified suspect declared a holdup.

Based on the initial police investigation, the assailant entered the vehicle and instructed the live-in partner to drive to Barangay Cabug, but when they reached Oroland Subdivision in Barangay Tangub, the suspect shot the woman in the head.

The victim was rushed to the Bacolod Adventist Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician, while the suspect, who carted away the cellphone and money of the victims, fled after the incident.

Maj. Joery Puerto, Police Station 8 chief, said they are looking at the relationship of the victim and her partner as the motive of the killing as the man already has a wife and children.

Two hours later, a senior citizen, who was said to be an asset of the NBI, was shot dead at Barangay 32.

The fatality was identified as 62-year-old Gerome Sientos of Barangay 29.

Based on the initial investigation, the victim was just standing near a sari-sari store when he was gunned down by unidentified suspects who wore bonnets.

The victim succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.

NBI Bacolod chief Renoir Baldovino said Sientos was a former NBI informant.

Police are still investigating the killings.*
