National ID registration opens in Sagay

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Negros Occidental opened a PhilSys Registration Center at the Sagay National High School in Sagay City for enrollment in the Philippine Identification System, Monday, May 3.

Sagay City Mayor Alfredo Marañon III and PSA Chief Statistical Specialist . Luis O. Gonzales led the opening ceremony.

This is in line with Republic Act No. 11055 or the Philippine Identification System Act.

The PSA registration center in Sagay City is open from Mondays to Saturdays from 8 a.m.to 5 p.m. They will validate supporting documents and will also capture biometric information, a press release from Sagay City said.

“During the registration, we continue to adhere to health and safety measures. All registrants are advised to these health protocols such as wearing of face mask, observe social distancing, hand sanitation and respiratory etiquette,” the press release said.

Marañon is urging all Sagaynons to register “as this will afford all of us a “catch all” ID. This is also necessary to access future national funding assistance and programs”.

Gonzales clarified that other IDs such as driver’s licenses, UMID, PRC Ids are still necessary.

Registrants should bring one of the primary supporting documents:
-DFA-issued Philippine or ePassport.
-GSIS or SSS-issued Unified Multi-purpose Identification Card (UMID)
-Land Transportation Office (LTO-issued Student’s License Permit or Non-Professional / Profesinal Drver’s License
-PSA-issued Certificate of Live Birth and one government-issued identification document which bears full name, front-facing photograph and signature or thumb mark.

Secondary supporting documents can also be one of the following:
-PSA-issued Certificate of Live Birth/ NSO-issued Certificate of Live Birth with Birth Reference
-LCRO-issued Certiicate of live birth
-PSA-issued Report of birth
-PSA-issued Certificate of Foundling
-Integrated Bar of the Philippines ID (IBP)
-Professional Regulatory Commision ID (PRC)
-Seaman’s Book
-OWWA ID
-Senior Citizen’s ID
-SSS ID
-Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4PS) ID
-License to Own or Possess Firearms (LTOPF) ID
-NBI Clearance
-Police Clearance ID
-Solo Parent’s ID
-PWD ID
-Voter’s ID
-Postal ID
-TIN ID
-Philhealth ID
-Philippine Retirement Authoirty (PRA)-issued Special Resident Retire’s Visa
-National ID from other countries
-Residence ID from other countries
The following identification documents shall be accepted as secondary supporting documents provided that they have front-facing photograph, signature/thumbmark , full name, permanent address and date of birth.

-Barangay Clearance/ Certificate of Barangay ID
