Recipients of relocation lots in Moises Padilla will have to reside there for a specific period before ownership is awarded to them, Mayor Ella Garcia-Yulo said on Tuesday, Jan. 20.

This is to make sure that they actually live on the lots allotted to them and do not sell them, she said.

A geodetic engineer has already begun the subdividing of the 1-hectare property donated by Eric Golez from the estate of Cecilia Montilla Garcia Golez to residents whose homes were washed out during Typhoon “Tino” and have no place to return to, Garcia-Yulo said.

More than 100 families are expected to benefit from the relocation project, she said.

If the property is not enough, the donor is willing to donate another hectare, she added.

The proposed lot allocations will be submitted to the Sangguniang Bayan for the formulation of the implementing rules and regulations.*
