A 41-year-old motorcyclist died after he was hit from behind by a van along the Hinigaran–Isabela Secondary Road in Brgy. Bato, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, early Sunday morning, April 26.
Police identified the victim as “Rolly,” a carpenter and a resident of Brgy. Bato.
The Hinigaran police said the victim was driving a blue Racal 125 motorcycle when he was bumped from behind by a Toyota Hi-Ace van driven by “Ardie,” 37, of Bacolod City.
Both vehicles were traveling in the same direction when the collision occurred.
The impact caused the motorcycle to fall into a canal, while the van driver continued to Hinigaran Police Station to report the incident.
The victim was brought by responders to Hinigaran Medical Clinic but was declared dead due to severe head injuries.
The van driver is now under police custody.*
