MNLF group agrees to leave Cadiz after Ramadan: mayor 

Members of the Moro National Liberation Front squatting on private property in Barangay Tinampa-an, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, have agreed to leave after Ramadan, Mayor Salvador Escalante said Sunday, March 24. 

Najah Laud of the MNLF Sawdara Field Marshall signed an agreement on Saturday with the Cadiz City government represented by lawyer Michael Angelo Borromeo and Julius Nuñez for the Philippine Bank of Communications that owns the property. 

The agreement states that the MNLF-SFM acknowledges that their organization has no legal right to own or occupy the land owned by PBCOM. 

MNLF-SFM also committed to remove all structures on the property and voluntarily vacate it at the end of Ramadan. 

Cadiz City has committed to provide financial assistance to MNLF-SFM on their departure and provide livelihood assistance, as appropriate and allowed by law. 

The bank will endeavor to provide assistance to MNLF-SFM as  allowed by their officials, the agreement also states.*
