A Grade 10 Bacoleña student who was reported missing for almost 15 days was found dead in a sugarcane plantation in Hacienda San Roque, Brgy. Cubay, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday, August 14.
Pearl Joy Galve, 15, a student from Sum-ag National High School, and a resident of Brgy. Sum-ag, Bacolod City, was found dead by an hacienda worker at about 8:30 a.m., Capt. Rosinie Cabuena, La Carlota deputy police chief, said.
The victim’s body was already in an advance state of decomposition when it was found, Cabuena said. She was wearing a white shirt, white shorts, and white socks.
The victim was identified by her mother.
Galve was found 700 meters away from the main road.
The police are still investigating the cause of the incident and an autopsy will be conducted.*
