McDonald’s Forbes Hill launches ‘Smile-Thru’

The McDonald’s Forbes Hill NXTGen outlet officially lighted up its “Smile-Thru” with a dazzling display of colorful lights to celebrate Christmas and the New Year, Wednesday night, December 29.

The store’s drive-thru facility has been transformed into a 145 feet-long glittering tunnel of lights where customers can take selfies and groufies as they move from one station to another without having to step out of their vehicles as they wait for their orders.

The “Smile-Thru” will be a permanent feature at McDonald’s Forbes Hill, with the lights and design concept changing periodically based on the holidays celebrated throughout the year, Harold Geronimo Megaworld senior assistant vice president and head of public relations and media affairs, said.

In January the tunnel’s design will celebrate the Chinese New Year, February – Valentine’s Day, March – graduation, April – summer, May – Flores de Mayo, June- Independence Day and so on throughout the rest of the year, he said.

The “Smile-Thru” was originally scheduled to be inaugurated before the holiday season but was delayed by Typhoon Odette, Judy Gabriel, Choice Gourmet Banquet Inc. executive director, said.

“Now that it’s here, we hope to put big smiles on the faces of our customers as they enjoy a new kind of dining experience with us,” she said.

MC Donald’s Forbes Hill is the newest attraction inside Megaworld’s 53-hectare Northhill Gateway township along the Bacolod-Silay Airport Access Road.*
