The week-long MassKara sa Panaad at the Panaad Park in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City, opens on Monday, October 10.
Almost all towns and cities in Negros Occidental are joining the MassKara sa Panaad, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said Wednesday, October 5.
Each congressional district will provide the daily entertainment at the park, which will showcase their festival dances and talents, Diaz said.
“We will give the people of Bacolod and Negros a good show during the first MassKara sa Panaad,” he said.
There will also be a food parade to showcase Negros Occidental’s delicacies, he said, adding that it will also be a celebration of Cooperative Month.
Curfew at the park has been lifted.
This is a warm up before the real Panaad Festival next year, Diaz said.
The provincial government is providing P100,000 in assistance to each participating local government unit that may be released by Friday, he said.
Keeping the LGU pavilions at the park open on a year-round basis for tourists is being discussed, Diaz said.*
