MassKara Elektroika, street dancing to cap festival on Saturday, Sunday

The MassKara Festival will reach its frenzied peak in Bacolod City this weekend with two major events.

The MassKara Festival Electric Float Parade and Elektroika Diva will be held on Saturday evening, Oct. 26, while the street and arena dance competition will be on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 27.

Ten barangays are joining the Electric Float Parade and Elektroika Diva that will start at the Upper East main road at 5:45 p.m. Saturday and proceed to the Bacolod City Government Center grounds, the Bacolod Yuhum Foundation (BYF) announced.

The barangays joining the MassKara Elektroika are Pahanocoy, 19, 5, 17, 39, 29, 10, 8, 36, and 11.

Meanwhile, seven barangays will vie for this year’s street and arena dance title with a grand prize of P1 million on Sunday afternoon.

The street dance will start from BCGC replica at Araneta Street at 3 p.m. and proceed to the Paglaum Sports Complex, BYF said.

The competing groups are defending champion Granada, and barangays Bata, 21, 35, 6, 12, and 18, BYF said.*
