The Bacolod City Emergency Operations Center is all set to start the mass vaccination program at SM Mall on Monday, May 3, City Administrator Em Ang, who is also executive director of the EOC, said Sunday.

The COVAC team inspected and set up the vaccination area which is located at the lobby of SM Cinema at the south wing of the mall, she said.

Remaining health facility frontliners, senior citizens and persons with co-morbidities will be accommodated based on a first-come first-served sequence in the order that their registration came into the city’s data base, Ang said.

Those who intend to avail of free COVID vaccines from the city government, may register online through this link: tinyurl.com/bcdceironline, Ang said.

Bacolod City had 88 new COVID-19 cases, nine deaths and 55 recoveries on Saturday and Sunday, the Department of Health reported.

There were 855 active COVID-19 cases in Bacolod City on Sunday, the DOH added.

Since March last year the city has had 7,562 COVID-19 cases and 216 deaths, the DOH reported.

Ang thanked SM Bacolod for partnering with the city government in the vaccination program, which is “a vital step in our efforts to end this pandemic.”*
