President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. led the distribution of checks to farmer organizations and financial assistance to individuals in crisis in Negros Occidental at the Department of Public Works and Highways-Negros Occidental First District Engineering Office in Talisay City on Sunday, October 23.
The Philippine Information Agency placed the total aid at P176.5 million.
Department of Agriculture projects worth P96,626,092.64 were among the government’s assistance that were distributed.

Distributed was P88,950,592 to six enterprises with 1,835 beneficiaries under the Philippine Rural Development Project and P7,675,500 to three enterprises with 430 beneficiaries under the Special Areas for Agricultural Development Program.
Also distributed were 104,498 bags of palay seeds for 52,249 farmers in Negros Occidental under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund with project cost of P79,418,480.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development also gave financial assistance worth P500,000 under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation Program to 100 qualified beneficiaries in Bacolod City.*
