A 13-year-old boy died after he accidentally shot himself with an air gun inside his house in Hacienda Dos Hermanos, Brgy. Purisima, Manapla, Negros Occidental, on Sunday, Jan. 12.
The victim’s sister said while she was in her room at their house she heard a sound from the air gun, the police said.
She then found her brother lying on the living room floor with blood on his head, and she immediately informed her father.
The victim was brought to the Dr. Ramon B. Gustilo Hospital but after an hour he was declared dead.
At 8:40 p.m. Sunday the parents of the victim voluntarily surrendered the air gun to the police. They believe that there was no foul play involved in their son’s death.*
