A person with intellectual disability was shot to death near the Carmelite Monastery at Lacson Street, Bacolod City, at about 5:45 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23.
Based on initial interviews, the victim was identified as “Roniel”, 26, a resident of Brgy. Bata
Witnesses around the area said that they heard five gunshots, which allegedly came from a security guard from a nearby establishment.
“Myrna”, a senior citizen who said she was the mother of the victim, added that her son is a person with special needs and that he went out of their house at about 5 p.m. Monday.
She said that they looked for her son until they found him dead.
Witnesses said they believe that the victim was shot because he allegedly stole some food at a stall and the children feared him.
A Bacolod City Police Station 3 cop told DIGICAST NEGROS they could not divulge details of the case as the investigation is still ongoing.*
