Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez on Friday, November 3, said he will announce the name of his new city administrator on November 15.

City Administrator Pacifico M. Maghari III, who was also Public Employment Services Office (PESO) head, resigned from his posts effective November 1.

Benitez said the new city administrator must have his complete trust and confidence.

“The new city administrator should be somebody who can work with me day and night”, he said.

Benitez said he will also announce the name of the new PESO head on November 15.

Maghari resigned from his post after one year and four months of service.

Benitez said he respects Maghari’s decision, which had been under consideration for the past two months. It was just timed after the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections, he said.

“In light of family-related concerns”, Benitez said he offered his wholehearted support to Maghari’s decision.

With Maghari’s departure, Benitez said that a meticulous consideration process is underway, with a shortlist of candidates being thoroughly evaluated.

He said the new city administrator will be from Bacolod City.*
