Magayon Hinuptanan Festival kicks off in Moises Padilla

The Magayon Hinuptanan Festival 2026 in Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental, kicks off Saturday, March 21, and will run until Tuesday, March 24.

The four-day celebration begins with a thanksgiving mass, followed by a grand parade and opening program on Saturday, a press release from Moises Padilla said.

Various events are lined up on the first day, including the Agro-Trade Fair, the 4th Marc and Michael Garcia Memorial Motocross, softball games, a shootfest, and the much-anticipated Magayon Bazaar.

The evening will highlight the search for Magayon Hinuptanan Festival Queen 2026.

Festivities continue on Sunday with more Agro-Trade Fair activities, motocross events, a shootfest, and “Larong Pinoy,” along with football matches. The day will culminate in the Barangay and SK Day and Night Celebration, gathering youth and community leaders.

On Monday activities will include horse racing, the ongoing bazaar, and the CPSU Panaghawoy 2026, adding excitement and cultural flair to the celebration.

The festival will reach its peak on Tuesday with the Magayon Hinuptanan Street Dancing Competition, expected to draw crowds and highlight the municipality’s rich traditions and creativity, the press release said.

A lively street party will close the festivities.

Local officials said the festival not only celebrates the town’s heritage but also promotes tourism, supports local businesses, and strengthens unity among residents.

With a mix of cultural showcases, sports events, and community activities, the Magayon Hinuptanan Festival 2026 promises a colorful and meaningful celebration for both locals and visitors, the press release said.*
