
The Talisay City government took a definitive step toward establishing its long envisioned dream for a hospital following the formal signing of a Deed of Donation for a 10,000-square meter property on Thursday, January 29, at the Mayor’s Office at the Talisay City Hall.
Talisay City Mayor Rowena “Weng” Lopez Lizares represented the city at the signing ceremony with Carmela Valley Agricultural Corporation and HDL Construction and Development Corporation represented by its President and CEO Dolores Lopez.
The property is being donated by the family of the mayor to the city government.
The donation of several parcels of land, totaling one hectare, is strictly intended for the future construction of a primary health care facility or city hospital.
During the ceremony, the mayor emphasized that the project is anchored on the genuine and long-felt need of Talisaynons for accessible and quality healthcare.
She thanked the Lopez family for answering the call of the community and listening to the collective voice of residents seeking improved local health services.
The signing of the agreement was witnessed by City Administrator Jonathan Ealdama, Carmela Valley Corporation General Manager Kenneth Tirthdas, former Talisay mayor Neil Lizares, and Carmela Jones.
They were joined by Talisay Sangguniang Panlungsod members Yuri Tuvilla, Martin Lizares, Wilfred Malan, Merci Ereñeta, and Joemarie Estelloso, as well as Barangay Zone 12A Punong Barangay Edwin Iledan.*
