LCC Bacolod to hold international multidisciplinary research conference

La Consolacion College Bacolod is organizing an international research conference featuring papers on various subjects in humanities, social sciences, natural and applied science, and business. It will be held on March 24 to 26, 2022.

The continuing threat of COVID-19 prevent the institution from hosting the conference in person like it did in the past, however having a virtual conference also has advantages especially in making it even more accessible to academics, researchers, and students.

This year’s conference centers on the theme “Research and the Flourishing of Humanity amid Complexities” to celebrate the findings and products of research across different fields, reflective of the evolution of humanity. The conference highlights research as both a product of this evolution, and a technology through which humanity constantly seeks the truth of our existence.

Among the international country paper presenters include Dr. Sr. Patricia H. Santos, RJM who is currently based in India. Her research interests include women and gender studies, psychology, spirituality, feminist and liberation theologies. She has an MA in Psychology, a Licentiate in Systematic theology from Boston College School of Theology and Ministry, and a doctorate in Pastoral and Empirical theology from Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium.

From Hungary, Dr. Ottilia Lukács will present her paper titled “The Role of Cultural Memory in the Book of Ezekiel. Her main methodological approach was inner-biblical exegesis, which led her to the Book of Ezekiel. Dr. Lukács is lecturer at the Theological College of Pécs (Hungary). She has a BA in Theology and Social Sciences at the Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca (Romania), masters and doctoral degrees which she obtained at Catholic University of Leuven, (Belgium).

Among the speakers in the conference include Jessica Leinwand, an attorney at Meta, also a former Deputy Associate Counsel at the White House and a trial attorney for the Department of Justice in the Obama Administration. As Meta’s attorney, Leinwand has been involved in managing Facebook’s public policy including policies that ensure that the social media is not being misused during election period, a topic which is very timely especially as the Philippines is preparing for a national presidential election in May.

Also among the keynote speakers is American journalist, Sam Stein, who has been a long time contributor of MSNBC news and is currently the White House Editor of POLITICO. Stein has a BA in History and a masters degree in journalism from Columbia University.

The conference will accept abstracts until March 15 while registration is open until March 23.*
