
A 21-year-old man was found dead after a drowning incident in the Binalbagan River in Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday night, April 29.
The victim, a laborer and resident of the area, was declared dead at the Moises Padilla Infirmary.
Police said the incident happened at around 11:20 p.m. at Sitio Lemonsito, Brgy. Quintin Remo.
Initial investigation showed the victim and about eight companions went to the river at around 7 p.m. to spear fish.
Authorities said the companions noticed the victim missing at around 8:30 p.m. and immediately conducted a search.
The victim was later found lifeless near the riverbank at around 11:20 p.m., the police said.*
