A barangay kagawad was stabbed dead while he was sleeping in his house by an unidentified suspect in Purok Maalikaya, Brgy. Canjusa, Pulupandan, Negros Occidental, on Sunday, July 21.
Fernando Jacildo, 66, a security guard and a Barangay Canjusa kagawad, died after he was stabbed multiple times in his bedroom, the police reported.
His daughter came out of her room when she heard her father begging for help and saw him running towards her while holding his bleeding neck, the police said.
The victim was rushed by the Pulupandan Rescue Unit to the Valladolid District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival due to blood loss secondary to multiple stab wounds.
The daughter of the victim said the suspect was wearing black shorts, a black cap, and was bare foot when she saw him rushing out of their house, the police said.
The suspect remains at-large.*
