Agricultural production represents major livelihood in the city of Kabankalan where 141 farmers from different barangays received insurance claims amounting to P649,000 from the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation.
The insurance claims were released Wednesday, February 24, at the Demo Farm, Brgy. Hilamonan, Kabankalan.
Mayor Pedro Zayco Jr. said, ”hopefully, this will jump start good production in the next crop. It is important to uplift the lives of our farmers since the agriculture sector contributes a big part in the economy of the city.”
The impact of damages during the first and second crops for crop year 2020-2021 were covered by PCIC insurance coverage.*
