Kabankalan City employees hit by COVID now 32 – Zayco

There are two new Kabankalan City government employees who have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number to 32, Mayor Pedro Zayco said today, December 1.

The two new employees who tested positive for the virus are from the City Accounting Office and General Services Office, he said, adding that they will be sent to a healing center.

They belong to Team B composed of 141 employees at the Kabankalan City Hall who were swabbed for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests last week, and those who tested negative, or 50 percent of the workforce, will return to work, he said.

The employees of Team A who worked at the city hall last week will be swabbed on Thursday for RT-PCR tests and will work from home, he added.

Zayco said of the 32 Kabankalan City government employees who have tested positive for COVID-19, 24 are from the City Engineer’s Office, four from the City Assessor’s Office, two from the General Services Office and one each from the City Accounting Office and one from the Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office.

There have been 478 hit by COVID-19 in Kabankalan City, 384 of whom have recovered, seven have died and 87 remain active cases as of today, December 1, the Kabankalan COVID-19 Task Force reported.*
