The House Committee on Health approved the bill seeking to establish a Victorias City General Hospital on Tuesday, November 29, Rep. Francisco Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3rd District) said.

Benitez, who authored House Bill No. 1239, said the Victorias City General Hospital in Victorias City, Negros Occidental, will provide Victoriahanons and nearby residents of the Third District wider access to affordable and quality healthcare, and most importantly help save lives in times of medical emergencies.

The need to build more hospitals and health centers has become more urgent amidst the emergence and resurgence of infectious diseases and increasing prevalence of lifestyle diseases, he said.

The hospital will help the Victorias City government address the healthcare needs of its growing population, Benitez added.*
