A high-value individual was arrested in a buy-bust operation that yielded P428,400 worth of suspected shabu in Victorias City, Negros Occidental on Monday, May 11.
The Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region identified the suspect as alias “Jay,” 38, a resident of Brgy. 5, Victorias City.
Police said the operation was conducted at the corner of Ditching Street and Quezon Street after authorities received information from a confidential agent on the suspect’s alleged involvement in illegal drug activities.
The Victorias police conducted two weeks of casing and surveillance before the buy-bust operation was carried out.
Recovered from the suspect were seven heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu, including the buy-bust item, and one knot-tied plastic containing suspected shabu.
The police said the seized suspected shabu weighed about 63 grams.
Authorities also recovered an improvised tooter, a P500 bill used as buy-bust money, and other non-drug items.
Police said charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against the suspect.*
