Guv hopes Marcos makes ‘every Filipino a winner’

“We should all hope the Marcos administration does well for our country, and makes every Filipino a winner,” Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said Sunday, May 15.

Lacson supported the presidential bid of Vice President Leni Robredo but 98.35 percent of the unofficial national vote count showed Marcos still leading by a wide margin on Sunday.

The count showed Marcos with 31,104,175 votes to Robredo’s 14,822,051 votes.

Lacson said his expectations of the Marcos administration is the restoration of the Negros Island Region, and the building of the Panay-Guimaras-Negros bridges.

He also hopes the Marcos administration will import sugar only when necessary and a Negrense is appointed to head the Sugar Regulatory Administration.

Lacson said the elections are over, “I’m calling on all elected officials to do our share for our country, good governance.”*
