Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson Tuesday night, December 13, directed the release of the P40, 000 bonus of the provincial government’s employees this week and assured that the granting of performance based bonuses (PBB) will also be reviewed in January.
Lacson made the announcement after he and Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer led the switch on of the Christmas lights at the Capitol and its park in Bacolod City, which was accompanied by a burst of fireworks.
The governor also marked his 63rd birthday on Tuesday.
Lacson, in his speech, urged his fellow public servants, to “allow this season to rekindle and renew our promise to our fellow Negrenses to work to the very best of our abilities towards their best interest, for what we give and do for the welfare of others are the true source of our joy and life’s meaning.”
He also said may the Christmas lights be a reminder of the “True Guiding Light of our Savior as we celebrate His birth”.
Lacson also distributed food gift packs to the job order (JO) and contract of service (COS) workers of the provincial government at the Capitol lobby Tuesday afternoon.
The provincial government will also give P5, 000 each in gratuity pay to the 1,740 JO and COS workers.
Lacson also led a storytelling activity for children and the opening of the renovated Zonta playground at the Capitol Lagoon Park on Tuesday afternoon.
The vice governor, in his speech, assured the governor of the continued support of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
The lights on activity was joined by the Negros Occidental provincial board members, mayors, and employees.*
