Guv: Cyber center, Mambukal surpass revenue targets in 2022

The Economic Enterprise Development Department of the Negros Occidental provincial government over performed in 2022 and more local revenues are expected in 2023, Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said Wednesday, January 4.

Lacson, in his New Year’s message delivered before the provincial government officials and employees, said the Negros First CyberCentre in Bacolod City earned P99,595,000 surpassing the P15million target, by more than 500 percent.

The catering services of the Mambukal Resort also surpassed the P15 million target, with its P20,000,000 revenues, he said.

This year we are expecting even bigger revenues for Mambukal that has opened up after the pandemic, the governor also said.

The provincial government will no longer be strict about Mambukal visitors presenting COVID-19 vaccination cards in 2023, he said.

The Ayala rentals also surpassed the P35 million target by reaching P51,000,000 because of collection efficiency, he said.

The governor also reiterated that the December 2022 report of the Philippine Statistics Authority showed that all economies of Western Visayas grew in 2021, rebounding from the declines in 2020, with Negros Occidental leading the growth of the Region.

Of the 5.9 percent growth of the region, Negros Occidental led with the highest percentage points contribution, he pointed out.

The governor also cited the numerous awards the provincial government received in 2022.

He pointed out that the Provincial Treasury Office was also recognized by the Department of Finance and the Regional Association of Treasurers and Assessors as the Top 1 among the provinces in Region VI, on the year end growth in locally sourced revenues with a 83.68 growth rate, economic enterprise collection efficiency of 245.57 percent and collection efficiency in four locally sourced revenues of 88.49 percent.

“Beyond the awards, our winning programs and projects are now models of good governance, worthy of emulation. These are proof that the provincial government of Negros Occidental, despite the drawbacks, sought tirelessly the necessary transformations, desired innovations, improved coordination, planning, and implementation of programs,” Lacson said.*
