Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose  Lacson lauded the 303rd Infantry  Brigade of the Philippine Army for four decades of “steadfast service” and commitment to maintaining peace and enabling local economic growth during its 40th Founding Anniversary celebration held at the brigade’s headquarters in Minoyan, Murcia, on Wednesday, July 1.

Speaking before military officials, enlisted personnel,  local officials and guests, Lacson emphasized that the contribution of the “Brown Eagle” Brigade is measured by the stability they preserve and the confidence they inspire across the province.

“For decades, the men and women of the 303rd Infantry Brigade have stood alongside our local governments, law enforcement agencies, and communities in safeguarding Negros Occidental and neighboring areas,” Lacson said, noting that their service goes beyond basic law enforcement to create an environment where businesses can invest with confidence and children can study without fear.

The celebration revolved around this year’s theme, “303rd @ 40: Matatag na Kasundalohan, Sambisig na Lumalaban para sa Kapayapaan,” which the governor highlighted as a reflection of the brigade’s core values.

He said  true strength is demonstrated not through force alone, but through discipline, professionalism, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to serve.

During his address, the governor expressed profound gratitude to Brig. Gen.  Ted Dumosmog,  303rd IB commander,  as well as to the families of the soldiers.

“We recognize that behind every successful mission are countless sacrifices that often go unseen,” Lacson stated.

“To your spouses, children, parents, and loved ones, we likewise express our sincere gratitude. Your strength and understanding have been indispensable partners in every achievement of this Brigade”, he said

Lacson also recognized the partnership between the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental and the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

He noted that their collaborative efforts extend past security operations to encompass disaster response, community development initiatives, and the protection of vulnerable sectors.

The governor accepted an institutional recognition from the brigade during the ceremony, dedicating the honor back to the collective efforts of the province.

“I accept it with sincere gratitude, knowing that whatever contributions the Provincial Government has made have always been made possible through the cooperation of committed partners like the 303rd Infantry Brigade,” he said.

Lacson urged the brigade to maintain its traditions of military excellence, to continue fostering deep roots within the communities they protect, and to inspire future generations of soldiers to lead with courage, humility, and honor.

Also present during the anniversary were MGen. Michael Samson, 3rd Infantry Division commander;  PBGen.Romano V. Cardiño, Police Regional Office Negros Island Region director; PCol. Dennis C. Wenceslao,Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) director; and Commander Christopher Auro of the Coast Guard District Southern Visayas .

The anniversary program featured a wreath-laying ceremony to honor the fallen members of the 303rd Brigade.
