Grupo Progreso has requested the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to allow the presence of its watchers during the ongoing voters’ registration in Bacolod City.
“Your accommodation of the watchers is a step towards preserving the integrity of the voters’ registration list,” Grupo Progreso said in its letter-request dated Sept. 14 signed by its head convenor, Mayor Evelio Leonardia.
Grupo Progreso is an aggrupation of several political parties in Bacolod City, including Partido Demokratikong Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban), Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC), and the Nacionalista Party (NP), its press release said.
Grupo Progreso cited Comelec Resolution No. 10549 dated July 18, 2019 to support its request for the accommodation of the poll watchers.
Registration of voters for the 2022 national elections will end on September 30.*
