Bacolod City Mayor Greg Gasataya convened health and engineering officials on Tuesday, July 8, to expedite the completion of critical healthcare infrastructure projects across the city.
The coordination meeting included City Health Officer Dr. Ma. Carmela Gensoli and representatives from the City Engineering Office, a press release from the Bacolod City Communications Office (BCCO) said.
Key projects reviewed for acceleration include the:
• Bacolod City Health Complex
• CHO Warehouse modernization
• Upgrades to the City Health Office headquarters
• Bacolod City Primary Care Facility
• Bacolod City General Hospital expansion
• New Barangay Health Center at Barangay 14
Gasataya emphasized the need for accelerated yet compliant construction.
“With these new and upgraded facilities, we aim to make healthcare more accessible and responsive to the needs of our communities,” he said.
The City Engineering Office reported varying progress stages, with several projects already underway and others in final planning phases.
Officials expressed confidence in meeting operational timelines through improved interdepartmental coordination.
Gasataya on Tuesday also inspected the Bacolod City College’s upcoming BPO Near-Hire Training Center, slated for an August launch.
This facility is part of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority-backed Enterprise-Based Education and Training Program, a partnership between the city government, BCC, and national agencies, designed to provide vocational training for business process outsourcing careers.*
