Five more congressional bets, seven for provincial board members and 13 for mayor filed their certificates of candidacy in Negros Occidental during the weekend, Provincial Elections Supervisor Ian Lee Ananoria said on Sunday, Oct. 6.
The filing of COCs will end on Tuesday. Oct. 8.
Those who filed their COCs for congressional representatives are former Rep. Julio Ledesma IV – 1st District, Rep. Alfredo Marañon III – 2nd District, Victorias Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez – 3rd District, Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer – 4th District and Lea Delfinado, former Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development assistant secretary – 4th District.
The board member candidates who filed their COCs were incumbent BM Araceli Somosa and Salvador Benedicto Mayor Marxlen de la Cruz – 1st District, incumbent BM Sixto “Pal” Guanzon and Sagay Councilor Arthur Christopher Marañon – 2nd district, incumbent BM Andrew Montelibano and Rolin Abert Meliton – 3rd District, and Leo Carlo Delfinado – 4th District.
