Negros Occidental Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer reiterated on Wednesday, August 10, that he will protect President Ferdinand “BBM” Marcos Jr. insofar as the appointment of Sugar Regulatory Administration acting board member Aurelio Gerardo Valderrama Jr.
“As a loyal supporter, leader, friend, family and the president’s personal adviser, I will protect him especially in choosing the right leaders for the sugar industry who are truly deserving of the president’s appointment,” Ferrer said in a press statement.
Ferrer on Tuesday called for the revocation of the president’s appointment of Valderrama.
The acting SRA Board member was known as a hard core pink supporter and had said unfavorable remarks against the president during the campaign period, the Ferrer press statement added.
“The BBM supporters were even surprised how come he applied for the position and did not show delicadeza”, Ferrer added.
He said, “I am here to protect BBM and the BBM supporters in Negros whose sentiments are likewise paramount on this matter.”
Ferrer added that if Valderrama still holds even an iota of delicadeza, he better resign from his post.
“A good and healthy working relationship with the president is crucial and not just based on the qualification and experience that he has as a sugar planter”, the statement said.
He will never forget Valderrama’s foul words against him citing his text message that reached him and against the President during the campaign period, Ferrer said.
“His text message will speak for itself and there is no amount of denial that can expunge it. I have a copy of his text message, which is proof that he and his group has said nasty words against me. Admittedly, it has provoked me,” he added.
The following is the text message sent to Ferrer:
Ferrer said his message to Valderrama is “if you have time now, be a gentleman enough. Step down from the post for the sake of delicadeza. You don’t deserved to be in that position. Show some respect to the president and to yourself.”*
