FedUp to mark People Power, protest historical revisionism

Federation of Urban Poor members are celebrating the 36th EDSA People Power anniversary with a walk from the Goldenfield Commercial Complex to the monument of Ninoy Aquino at Araneta Street in Bacolod City, on Friday, February 25.

The event’s theme is “People Power is Vote Power”, FedUp provincial head Joy Jarabelo said Tuesday, February 22.

“FedUp’s EDSA celebration is a continuing protest against the revisionism of our history and the Marcoses attempt to erase this historical event in our country,” she said.

“We will continue to show the world that we were once proud of our country when we were able to drive away a dictator without any bloodshed or non violently,” Jarabelo said.

The Filipino people joined the EDSA revolution to stand up for what is right and to stop all the abuses, killings and stealing by those who were in power, she said.

Jarabelo said they are calling on freedom and good governance loving Filipinos to join them on Friday.*
