A 53-year-old farmer was shot dead by an unidentified suspect in his house in Brgy. Minatok, Calatrava, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday evening, May 13.
The police identified the victim only as “Gery”.
Initial information gathered by Calatrava police showed that the victim was inside his house preparing dinner when someone knocked on the door.
When the victim opened the door, the suspect shot him causing his immediate death.
The suspect fled toward the mountainous area of Calatrava after the incident.
The shooting was reported to the police by the victim’s son at around 10 p.m. Wednesday.*
