Fake FINSI access pass used in Bacolod cable theft incident

Five suspects arrested for cable theft in Bacolod City last week are not affiliated with Fiber Infrastructure and Network Services Inc. (FINSI), the company clarified on Thursday, February 22, following reports linking the men to the firm.

“We want to make it clear that the suspects arrested in illegal activities in Bacolod City on February 17 are not from FINSI. We immediately launched an investigation upon learning about this incident and we confirmed that the suspects used fake access passes and work permits,” Marc Kerveillant, FINSI general manager, said.

“We strongly condemn such actions. Cable theft undermines the core of FINSI’s work: providing services that enable reliable connectivity. By stealing critical network assets, these thieves are also robbing customers of the ideal connectivity experience that companies like FINSI work so hard to ensure,” he added.

FINSI lauds the swift action of local police in apprehending the suspects and assures full cooperation with the ongoing investigation as necessary. It looks forward to the prompt prosecution of the suspects as the company believes bringing such cases to justice is crucial in deterring future incidents, a FINSI press statement said.

FINSI is committed to maintaining the integrity of its operations and will take all necessary measures to prevent any recurrence of such incidents, it added.*
