Electrician dies in Valladolid

A 47-year-old electrician died after he was electrocuted while repairing electrical wiring in Valladolid, Negros Occidental, on Thursday morning, May 14.

Police said the incident happened at around 8:31 a.m. inside the compound of West Negrense Trading and Services in Brgy. Sagua Banua.

The victim, a barangay electrician and resident of Brgy. Alijis, Valladolid, was hired to repair electrical wiring connected to a fuel dispenser pump inside the compound.

Initial investigation by Valladolid Municipal Police Station showed the victim accidentally touched a live wire.

He fell to the ground and was immediately assisted by his companions.

The victim was rushed to Valladolid District Hospital but was declared dead by the attending physician at around 8:10 a.m. Thursday.*
