Frank Carbon,  PCCI Energy and  Power Committee co-chair*

The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) and  the Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI) will hold an Electric Power Forum at  L’Fisher Hotel in Bacolod City on March 20.

“This is a no fee forum as we are encouraging all electric power stakeholders to come together and work to improve the reliability and sustainability of electric power supply in Negros Island,” Frank Carbon, PCCI Energy and Power Committee co-chair and MBCCI vice president for governmental affairs, said on Wednesday, March 13.

All the players in the electric power supply chain have been invited to the forum to discuss how to ensure that power supply is reliable and sustainable to lessen brownouts and prevent blackouts,  Carbon said.

They aim to craft a resolution “Creating a Negros Island Power Development Coordinating Council.”

The resolution will be submitted to the Negros Occidental and Oriental Provincial Development Councils for adoption, Carbon said.

“The primordial function of the Council is to meet regularly and assess the power situation in the Island and prepare recommendations to improve the power outlook… introducing an anticipatory and developmental mindset,” he said.*
