Dumaguete police station top performer in Region 7

The Dumaguete City Police Station ranked first among the component city police stations in Region 7 in the Unit Performance Evaluation Rating (UPER) of the Philippine National Police for the month of November.

The Dumaguete Police Station garnered the UPER rating of 90.49 percent, the highest among all 13 component city police stations in Central Visayas.

Following Dumaguete was Bayawan City with 90.35 percent, Guihulngan City with 90.30 percent, and Tanjay City with 90.20 percent.

UPER is the PNP’s evaluation system that measures the effectiveness of police units across various operational (60 percent) and administrative (40 percent) criteria.

The Dumaguete City Police, in a statement, said that this ranking is their commitment to upholding law and order, ensuring public safety, and fostering positive community relations.

It said that their ranking is attributed to their efforts in crime prevention, community engagement, personnel management, and operational readiness.

The station assures the public that it will continue to strive for excellence and maintain the highest standards of policing, the statement added.*
