DSWD distributes P62M in housing aid to 9,022 in Bacolod so far

The Department of Social Welfare and Development Negros Island Region (DSWD NIR) has distributed P62 million to 9,022 Bacolod residents whose houses were severely and slightly affected by Typhoon “Tino” as of Monday, Dec. 15.

It has distributed P28.2 million to 2,739 families in 48 Bacolod barangays whose houses were severely affected, the DSWD reported at 6:35 p.m. Monday.

It also distributed P33.7 million to 6,283 families in 40 barangays whose houses were slightly affected, the DSWD added.

This Emergency Cash Transfer is part of a series of cash assistance activities being implemented by the government to support affected families, the DSWD said.

DSWD NIR said it continues to work closely with local government units and partner agencies to ensure that social protection interventions reach those most in need.*
