A driver was injured while a house was damaged after it was hit by a truck carrying sacks of rice at the intersection beside the flyover in Purok Kamansi, Brgy. Banago, Bacolod City, Wednesday morning, Oct. 30.

Jonathan Pineda, the driver of the truck, was rescued after he was stuck in the passenger seat of the vehicle after it hit the entrance of a vacant stall beside the road.

PMaster Sgt. Winfred Tubida said the driver had no companion and no other persons were injured.

Adrian Ocenar said he was eating his lunch when he heard that something had crashed beside the eatery.

He was alarmed because he thought that the truck would also hit their stall, Ocenar said.

The truck came from Brgy. Bata and its brakes could have failed, the police said.

The driver was brought to the hospital while the owner of the truck had the bags of rice that fell on the road when the accident happened cleared.*
